Abstract

Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) Methods are regularly used to pick best choices in our genuine complex issues. With reference to the announcement, the present paper gives a review on the utilization of MCDM for the determination of best PC framework out of three PC frameworks known as choices i.e: A,B&C relying upon four criteria utilizing ELECTRE technique for which the choice is now gotten by Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP).ELECTRE strategy is one of the positioning strategies and it gives brisk answer for the issue. Henceforth this strategy is connected in this study. In the present study acquired arrangements by the technique AHP and ELECTRE are thought about .It is clear that the arrangement got by both the strategies is comparable. The option is positioned first i.e: best PC framework .It is watched that there is consistency in the specimen information. Thus the arrangement will be comparable by every single positioning technique.

Abstract

Background / Objectives: Analytic Hierarchy Process is considered to be one of the applicable decision making techniques developed by Thomas. L. Saaty in 1970s. Consistency plays vital role in AHP. The objective is to improve the Consistency Ratio of Pair wise Comparison Matrix if it is more than 10%. Methodology: The research paper focuses on consistency in Analytic Hierarchy Process and two methods of consistency to improve the consistency ratio of pairwise comparison matrix. Findings: In this paper we used two methods to improve the C.R of Comparison Matrix. It has been observed that the first method identifies the location of inconsistent elements in comparison matrix which may deviate the order of comparison matrix to change. The second method improves the consistency ratio of comparison matrix without deviation in the order of matrix. Applications: Multiplication of matrices, Dot product of Vectors and Definitions of Pair Wise comparison Matrix have been used to identify the Inconsistent Elements and MATLAB is used to find the Eigen Values of Comparison Matrix.

Abstract

Multi The present study gives an application of Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods for the selection of a branch of student for ALL ROUND EXCELLENCE AWARD of an engineering college by Elimination and Choice Translating Reality (ELECTRE) method with an illustration. ELECTRE method is one of the MCDM methods. This method is also a ranking method which gives the leading alternative by which we can chose best decisions to our problems. In the opinion of Evangelos Triantaphyllou ELECTRE method gives the fastest solution. In this regard this method is chosen in the present cut throat competitive study. ELECTRE method is used in many fields to obtain the best decisions to their complex situations. Its significance has reached the crux. In this wake many methods like ELECTRE 1, ELECTRE 2… have come into existence to bring out the best result. But in this present study we applied only ELECTRE method to the mentioned problem. Here seven criteria are chosen in which few criteria have sub criteria and identified five branches as alternatives. Hence it is analysed that the student of ECE branch has been selected for the award.
